This helps to decide the outcome of challenges for the ball, how your shots will fare and whether or not you'll pull off that fingertip save. Special moves level up through repeated use, and kit can be upgraded to help give you an extra edge. Each player has one of four elements, Pokémon style, and there is a loose rock-paper-scissors affair going on, which is constantly depicted on match screens.

The game's RPG elements are in full effect throughout. It's a surprisingly smooth system, though the defensive AI is a bit lax at times. The player in possession will naturally run forward but everything else is up to you: tap a teammate for a pass, or to assign someone to run towards an opponent in possession. The latter splits into 5-a-side first-goal-wins knockabouts - almost like random battles - and 11-a-side matches, both of which are controlled with the stylus. Play divides into two halves (there was a joke in that somewhere): running round the overworld and games of football. I did not care about the aliens, at all, they were causes a race through history to recruit the essence of various historical figures to imbue your team with them and win the day. Galaxy also seems to do away with the whole Aliea arc in which we learn that there are no actual super-powered aliens.only to later backtrack on that- granted, with a whole different cast- and go 'oh yeah, turns out we do have aliens'.Īnd yes, the new characters are entirely useless. Kids playing and being passionate about soccer does not mesh with 'and then the universe will AXPLODE!!!'. I still managed to enjoy both CS and Galaxy because I turned off my brain and had fun with the characters.but I could not, at all, take it seriously. I cannot take the games seriously when we have aliens, black holes and the like. Galaxy just made all this way, way worse as soccer will now determine the actual survival of the entire Galaxy. IE was always very much on the fantasy end of sports but there is a difference between even the first season of GO, with Sector 5 and all that, and time traveling, dinosaurs and the whole kitchen sink. I had the same problem with CS, time travel is just not something I think has any place in any kind of sports related anime. My problems with Galaxy run much deeper, I found the entire premise utterly absurd. The hissatsus in galaxy are just as strong or weaker as the hissatsus in go and chrono stone. But in go, no one got stronger they just got different hissatsus. In the OG inazuma eleven series, we literally saw them from amateur to world champions.
And also, the fact that there is no development in power also makes me mad. All the character development of all the players just thrown out of the window by introducing new players for some reason with trash character development because we were all focused on the other players.
And the worst part is, they literally threw away season 1 and 2 as if it never even happened. They picked trash players just because they had souls which doesn't even justify it at all. I was super hyped and then got let down completely. And when they started picking the new inazuma japan I got super mad. I really liked all these players especially taiyou. Like hakuryuu, yukimura, nishiki, taiyou.

Before i started watching, I thought they were going to pick the players I saw in the movie clip.
Chrono stone was by far my favourite season, but I expected galaxy to be better, and here's why. First off, I just recently watched GO, but I have seen and watched a lot of spoilers already.
